Scharnhorst was commissioned in January 1939 with nine 28 cm guns and a top speed of about 31 knots. With her sister Gneisenau she sank the carrier HMS Glorious off Norway in June 1940 and raided Allied shipping in the Atlantic in early 1941.
In February 1942 she broke through the English Channel from Brest back to Germany. She was sunk at the Battle of the North Cape on 26 December 1943 by HMS Duke of York and her escorts, and only 36 of her crew survived.

Buy this kit along with qualifying components and you get $5 off your ship kit for each qualifying component, up to $35. Add them to your cart to see the discount!
Scharnhorst runs one shaft, so most builds use one drive ESC, two pump ESCs and a regulator, which takes $20 off the kit. Each button opens that component in the store.
Gun boards, solenoids, tanks and pumps are not part of the combo.
