Dante Alighieri was Italy's first dreadnought, commissioned in 1913. She was the first battleship anywhere to mount her main guns in triple turrets, carrying twelve 305 mm guns in four centerline turrets.
She saw little action in the First World War apart from the bombardment of Durazzo in 1918, and was stricken and scrapped in 1928.
