PRE-ORDER: The final details of this kit are still being designed. Pre-orders tell me which designs to finish next, and your ship date will be confirmed by email as the design is completed.
Available in two hull versions. Choose yours when you order:
Short Hull (Essex type): the original bow, as Essex, Yorktown, Intrepid, Hornet and the other early ships were built.
Long Hull (Ticonderoga type): the lengthened clipper bow fitted to the later ships, such as Ticonderoga, Hancock, Shangri-La and Antietam, to carry two more quad 40 mm mounts.
Essex was the lead ship of the largest class of fleet carriers ever built, commissioned at the end of 1942. Her air group struck Rabaul, the Marianas, Leyte Gulf and the Japanese home islands, and she earned 13 battle stars in the Second World War. She was modernized with an angled deck in the 1950s, flew strikes in the Korean War, and recovered the Apollo 7 crew in 1968.

Essex runs two shafts, so most builds use two drive ESCs, a pump ESC and a regulator, which takes $20 off the kit. Each button opens that component in the store.
Gun boards, solenoids, tanks and pumps are not part of the combo.
