Sendai-Class Light Cruiser

Sendai was the lead ship of a class of light cruisers commissioned in 1924 to lead destroyer flotillas, armed with seven 14 cm guns.

She supported the invasion of Malaya in 1941 and fought in the Guadalcanal campaign. She was sunk by U.S. cruisers and destroyers at the Battle of Empress Augusta Bay in November 1943.
